Rice Cakes

Ingredient

300 gr boiled rice
1-2 eggs
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
50 gr butter
50 gr flour
20 gr sugar
Vanilla or rasped lemon peel
2 tablespoons milk

Preparation

Separate the egg yoke from the egg white. Beat up the egg yoke with sugar, milk, vanilla or rasped lemon peel and add salt for flavor. Mix the egg white with flour and boiled rice and beat this mixture up until it is stiff. With this batter you can bake round cookies in the oven.

Serve the cookies with cinnamon and sugar or jam.

Brown Beans and Rice

Ingredient

1 large can of brown beans
500 gr chicken
200 gr salted meat
2 tomatoes
2 bouillon cubes
1/2 onion
1 fresh pepper (madame jeanette)
1 tablespoon ketchup
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
5 pigment grains (lontai)
5 cloves
Salt
Oil
2 branches of celery

Preparation

Wash the chicken and cut it into pieces. Marinate with salt and black pepper. Desalt the salted meat and cut up into cubes. Fry the onion in hot oil and fry the meat until brown. Add the salted meat and fry it for a short time, add the diced tomatoes and ketchup and fry. Add the brown beans with a glass of water, the pigment grains, the cloves, the bouillon cubes, celery and fresh pepper. Stir well and steam until done.
As variation, you can add smoked sausage.

Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice)

Ingredients

500 gr rice
250 gr fillet of chicken
Vinegar or lemon
5 tablespoons of spicy soy sauce
4 tablespoons of salty soy sauce
3 branches of celery
1/2 onion
2 eggs
25 gr of margarine
4 tablespoons of oil
3 or 4 bouillon cubes
1 bay leaf
Black pepper
4 pieces of laos (1cm)

Preparation

Boil the rice and let it cool. Clean the chicken en wash with vinegar or lemon. Boil the chicken with salt and branch of celery, let it cool and shred. Heat the oil in a wok and fry the finely chopped onions, the laos and the bay leaf. Add the bits of chicken and fry until brown. Add the soy sauce and bouillon cubes and stir. Add the cooled rice and continue to stir. Add some more soy sauce, if necessary. Finally, add the finely chopped celery and fry a little bit longer. Make omelets from the eggs, cut in slices and serve with the fried rice. Garnish with cucumber, tomatoes, sambal, prawns and lettuce leafs.

 

Moksi Alesi (Mixed Rice)
Ingredient

500 gr rice
250 gr yellow split peas
250 gr salted meat
1 onion
1 tomato
Black pepper
1 fresh pepper
3 bouillon cubes
4 tablespoons of oil

Preparation

Boil the peas until almost done. Desalt the salted meat and chop into pieces. Dice the onion and tomato. Heat the oil and fry the meat with the onion and tomato. Add the cooked peas together with 1 liter of water. Bring to a boil, add black pepper and bouillon cubes. Add rice. Put the pepper on top of the rice and put the lid on. The moksi alesi is cooked in 30 minutes. Serve with fried banana, cucumber, tomato or ochre in vinegar.

White Fried Rice

Ingredient

500 gr rice
250 gr fresh shrimp
1 paprika
1 can of corn
1/2 cabbage
1 onion
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
3 or 4 bouillon cubes
1/2 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG)
2 spring onions or leek

Preparation

Cook the rice until done and dry, remove from cooking pot and let it cool. Stir now and then to loosen up the rice grains. Clean the shrimp and wash thoroughly. Dice the paprika. Drain the corn and slice the cabbage thinly. Heat the oil and fry the finely chopped onion. Add the shrimp and 1 bouillon cube and fry. Add rice, paprika, corn, bouillon cubes, black pepper, monosodium glutamate and sesame oil and fry. In the end, add cabbage and the finely chopped spring onions and stir. Finish with salt and black pepper. Serve with cucumber in vinegar.
